The first are three sons and a grandson of Clarences Dream. Clarence is a bull from the early 1960’s. A Certified Meat Sire, an honor that was a multi breed test. The bulls had to pass guide lines for progeny gain ability and carcass quality. All of the Clarence line are light birth weights, gain well and have excellent carcass quality.
The next are two sons from Pete’s Top Gain. Pete was the grandson of Emperor of Upper Bar. Emperor was imported to the United States from Scotland. Pete was another Certified Meat Sire. He has the same traits as Clarence. Unfortunately, Pete got into a herd that did not keep up on registrations, we are proud that we could bring back this bloodline into today Galloways. He gives a big boost to those seeking Choice + carcasses
Next available is a son of Lottie’s Voyager. The third of the Certified Meat Sires that we managed to rescue and reintroduce into the Galloway gene pool. We took progeny of Lottie’s to the feedlot were they promptly gained 4 lbs. a day and graded Choice + Yield Grade 1. A very rare feat for any breed of cattle. This bull tops calving ease with progeny in the low to mid 60 lb. range.
We also collected Late Jake 20W. Jake is a bull we purchased to add to our Red Galloway line. He comes from Lone Pine Creek Galloways. We really like the daughters he has produced to add to our herd and we have one promising herd bull that we kept for ourselves. He was unfortunately injured in a fight, but we were able to collect him so he could continue to add to our herd and now yours. If you are looking for a red AI sire, we have him. He does have a little higher birth weight at high 70 to lower 80 lbs. Recommended for mature cows.
Later this fall we will be adding another White Galloway, H5 Spotty. Spotty has Pete’s Top Gain ancestry on the top of his pedigree and Lottie’s Voyager on the bottom. We bought Spotty back from an Abby in Northern Colorado. The Sisters at the Abby sell grass finished meat direct to customers and have nothing but praise for Spotty, but the time comes on all small places that a bull has to move on because you have too many daughters. We were happy to have Spotty back as he will complement our White line very nicely. Give him a look if you need to upgrade your carcass quality in you Whites.
